A picture of the explosion in my room in the process of packing for Maine!
Packing is SO much work! It's kind of exciting but my room is such a mess as I'm trying to fit everything into a backpack and a suitcase. But I'm leaving tomorrow for Maine! I can't wait!! I'll fly to Boston and then catch a bus from Boston to Portsmouth, NH where Jess and Lexi are picking me up! Then Saturday is Jess' bachelorette party which I am unbelievably excited for! Tuesday I'll take a train from Maine to Boston to visit some Semester at Sea friends: Roy, Bethany, and Kristene. I can't wait to see those crazy kids again and spend a couple days in Boston with them! Then I'll meet my mom at the Boston airport on Thursday, rent a car, and drive back to Wells, ME where I will spend the next couple days doing all that fun wedding prep stuff! It's going to be a busy and very fun week.
I've started reading Bill Bryson's book A Walk in the Woods, upon recommendation from Jess a few months ago, and it is completely hilarious! I've been laughing out loud as I read it. It's his account of his journey along the Appalachian Trail. I love it because it starts with his preparation for the journey but he has very little experience or knowledge to accompany him so he's trying to learn everything he needs to learn in a very short time. I haven't gotten very far yet but it's got some hilarious quotes which I will probably share here as I find them :-) I love summer, when I can read for fun again! I'm still trying to get out of the cycle of falling asleep as soon as I open a book though, which is my instinct when the book is for school but when it's actually a good book I want to be reading I still fall asleep! I must work on that.
The other day a couple friends and I successfully climbed up to the Royal Arch above Boulder! It was slow going and a pretty intense hike but the view from the top was gorgeous and well worth it! I foolishly forgot my camera, so I'll have to go back sometime and bring my camera.
I should get back to packing. Tomorrow my next summer adventure begins!
*peace and love*
Have fun!
